November 2019 Rally
Buckhorn Lake RV Resort

Highlights of the River City Travelers One More Time Rally:

Coaches started arriving around Noon, everyone was visiting and setting up their Coaches. Later we all gathered at the sports bar for dinner and conversation.

Early Birds gathered at the rally hall for coffee, Mimosa’s, and Bloody Mary’s.  Breakfast consisted of sausage gravy, biscuits, fruit  and juice which was enjoyed by all.

That evening we gathered for Happy Hour and more conversation.

All Dinners were being catered by the Rail Restaurant, the staff arrived and setup for the meal. The meal was served at our table by the Rail staff.  Dinner was awesome!!

Breakfast started out with the usual beverages of choice as our expert chefs prepared sausage, French (Texas) toast, fruit and juice.  After breakfast the Ladies kicked into shopping mode and the men gathered to resolve the problems of the world and share a few beverages.

As 5 PM rolled around we gathered again for Happy Hour and to prepare ourselves for a night to remember!  The Rail Restaurant had prepared a sit-down dinner with white Linen napkins, white tablecloths, with waiter/waitresses waiting on the group hand & foot, with food that was so good you wished you had room for more. While eating the Band was setting up and getting ready for evening.

At 7 PM the Band started playing and everyone had a great time dancing.  Everyone was having such a great time that the Band agreed to play an additional 30 minutes. The magical night did not end until 10 PM.

Breakfast sandwiches, fruit and, oh yes, beverages were served as we gathered for Breakfast. The conversations revolved around what was in store for us tonight.

At 5 PM we all gathered for a greatly anticipated evening of great food, music, dance and happy times, pretty much like Friday night’s event. Saturday was not a disappointment; the food was awesome, and the night was magical.

I want to give a great big applause to the anonymous contributors who donated their time and money. Without their help we could not have accomplished the following:

  • Band for 2 Evenings
  • $600 in Gift cards
  • Decorations, etc.

We received a special Christmas gift for River City Travelers. We had 5 non-members couples attend the Rally; 3 of the couples have agreed to join the club and paid their 2020 membership dues. Thanks to members that helped in recruiting the new members.

Margie and I especially want to thank our helpers, Dan and Gail Wight, Jim and Debbie Elliott and John and Ruth Lickvar for helping make this a rally to remember.

May God Bless you, have a blessed Holiday Season!!!!
